OUGD 602 - Logo
I really wasn't happy with my current branding, what I produced in first year felt really rushed. So created a logo was the first thing I wanted to do in third year. I think it will be important to have a strong logo for when I start apply for works experience this year.
Logo from first year.
Logo from second year.
I started by sketching out different ideas for my logo.
This is the final design that I went with. I used the pink because it is a colour that it used a lot is my designs and it also gives off a friendly approachable vibe that I would like to give off. I think the drop shadow gives it a modern feel. I wanted to keep my logo pretty minimal as this related to my design practice.

Slide 1: Intro
Slide 2: Skills I have gained this year. Trying to avoid doing everything digitally and trying to step away from the computer and producing less digital work. For a lot of of my outcomes I have created things by hand. I think that this makes my work more personal and I notice that I put more thought into what I am doing, seen as I can't just undo things like on photoshop.
Slide 3: Skills I have gained this year. Another skill I have gained this year is group work. Through responsive and taking care of business I have gotten the chance to do more group work. I think that learning work to work well in a team is very important for the future. I also really enjoy working with other people and doing collaborative work. As I get to see how people work/design and you get a wider range of concepts.
Slide 4: Changes since first year. Since first year I have seen a big change in my work. I have developed new skills and have approached different new areas of graphic design. However I still think there is still a lot to learn.
Slide 6: Favourite parts. Secret 7. As a music fan, Secret 7 was my favourite brief throughout this module. I enjoy how open the brief is, which leaves a lot more room for creativity. Overall I was very pleased with my final outcome. As if by habit, as soon as I get a brief I always think of the digital possibilities. By not working digitally I was able to try a completely new thing and style, which I really enjoyed.
Slide 7: Favourite parts. Taking care of business. I think that this was an important brief I as it gave me an insight of what the working would be like and what to expect. Before this brief I was quite skeptical that i could create my own businesses, but after I am confident that I could.
Slide 8: My brand. For my logo I wanted to interpret in some typography I created. I felt that this would create a much more personal feel to the logo. I wanted my logo to look fun and friendly, and not too bland and sophisticated. I wanted to feel like an approachable person.
Slide 9: My brand. Promo pack. This is a mock up of my promo pack, I went with different colours in a geometric pattern, to represent diversity, just like how I am a designer am able to change to fit a brief, nothing is one set thing.

Slide 10: Summer plans. Visiting studios in London Over summer I plan on visiting studios in london. Two that particularly caught my eye were Brighten the corners, who like simple and minimal designs. and the other studio is the graphic thought facility, who like to use unusual methods and forgotten techniques.
Slide 11: Summer plans. Learn calligraphy. I have set myself the task of trying to learn calligraphy over summer. It is a useful skill that I think that will be definitely come in handy in the future.
Studio Brief 1 - My Brand
This is my existing logo i designed before christmas. I think my logo is something i will always want to change and tinker with, so i decided to come up with a new logo as well as turning it into a brand.
Experimentation
I wanted to interpret in some typography I created. I felt that this would create a much more personal feel to the logo.
On a whole the letters were quite slabby and hard to work with, getting things to look balanced and well composed proved to be a challenge.
Final Outcome
The digital text helped to balance out the design, overall I am very happy with how it turned out.
I went with different colours in a geometric pattern, to represent diversity, just like how I am a designer am able to change to fit a brief, nothing is one set thing.

My Brand - Online Portfolio
Wix creates an easy way to insure that the site can be viewed correctly on smaller screens such as phones and tablets. With the rise of smart phones, it is important that my website works on any device with any size screen.
